Meet our faculty...
Vanessa Carroll
Vanessa Carroll is an Orange County native where she grew up training in all styles of dance and entered the competitive dance world at the age of eight. From tap, ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, musical theatre- Vanessa loves it all. She even trained in modern, Irish, Bollywood and Israeli folk dancing while being on her high school varsity dance team for four years.
As soon as Vanessa graduated from high school, she joined Mather Dance Company's pre-professional training program, Bridge into the Industry, where she expanded her knowledge and love for this art form. Through the program, Vanessa got to train under and get very close to Shannon Mather and her brother, Blake McGrath. Vanessa was a background dancer for Blake's music video, "Love You The Most," and was chosen as production assistant to directors, Matt Cady and Ricky Palomino.
Vanessa's passion for dance has led her to train with the Radio City Rockettes in New York City one summer. She also has been an assistant to working dancers and choreographers in this industry such as Caley Carr, Katee Shean, Sloan-Taylor Rabinor, Haylee Roderick, Ashley Cinq-Mars, Ben Bigler, Brandon Hanschel, and Andrew Rincon. In addition, Vanessa was a part of Olivia Rodrigo's, "Sour Prom," production music video.
Most recently, Vanessa has joined the IAF Mentorship program based in Los Angeles. With this, she also works for the national touring dance competition, Spotlight Dance Cup, and continues to share her growing knowledge of dance around Orange and Los Angeles County. Vanessa is ecstatic to be a part of Odyssey Dance Academy's faculty for another year!
